Good morning! Two new houses of the Lord opened their doors this weekend. Here's your quick dose of faith, news, and fun.
🙌 Two Temples Dedicated in One Day
On Sunday, Elder Ronald A. Rasband dedicated the Managua Nicaragua Temple, the country's first and the Church's 226th temple. For decades, Nicaraguan Saints traveled to temples in Guatemala, Mexico, Arizona and even Utah. The same day, President Henry B. Eyring dedicated the Montpelier Idaho Temple, the Church's 225th operating temple and Idaho's eighth. “Come often to the temple—let its light bless your whole life,” Elder Rasband said (Newsroom: Managua, Newsroom: Montpelier).
Elder Gong proposes “Humanity's First Exam” for AI. At the G20 Interfaith Forum in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Elder Gerrit W. Gong called for a benchmark that tests AI on moral reasoning, not just smarts. “AI will not fulfill its full potential until we make it as morally good as we make it powerful,” he said (Newsroom, Church News).
Ground broken for Austria's first temple. Elder Michael Cziesla presided Saturday as about 250 members, friends and dignitaries gathered in Vienna. Members there now drive seven or eight hours each way to a temple. Austria has more than 4,700 Latter-day Saints in 17 wards and branches (Church News).

BYU jumps to No. 2 in the AP poll. After beating Notre Dame, the Cougars rose six spots, their best ranking since 1996, and got 20 first-place votes. Only new No. 1 Miami is ahead. Utah moved up to No. 10. BYU visits UCF this weekend (Deseret News).
“Temples are evidence that God is a God of covenants and that His plan reaches beyond mortality into eternity.”
— President Henry B. Eyring, Montpelier Idaho Temple dedication, Oct. 18, 2026 (Newsroom)
Oct. 19, 1971: The Genesis Group, a monthly gathering for Black Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, held its first meeting. Elders Gordon B. Hinckley, Thomas S. Monson and Boyd K. Packer set apart Ruffin Bridgeforth Jr. as president, with Darius Gray and Eugene Orr as counselors (Church History: Genesis Group).
This week's Come, Follow Me reading includes Jeremiah 7, where the prophet stood at the temple gate and warned people not to trust in the words “The temple of the Lord” while ignoring the stranger, the fatherless and the widow (Jeremiah 7:2–7). Jesus echoed Jeremiah when He cleansed the temple (Matthew 21:13). This weekend's leaders made the same point: Elder Rasband invited members to come to the temple prepared to worship, and Elder Cziesla said he hopes people will see what a temple means “in the lives of the people who visit this house” (Newsroom, Church News).
Reflect: What is one thing you could change this week so your next temple visit starts before you reach the door?
🏛️ Temple of the Day: Guatemala City Guatemala Temple
For years, Nicaraguan Saints traveled to Guatemala, among other countries, to attend the temple. This one was announced April 1, 1981, ground was broken Sept. 12, 1982, and Gordon B. Hinckley, then a counselor in the First Presidency, dedicated it Dec. 14, 1984. Its exterior is natural white Guatemala marble (Newsroom, official temple page).
